WELCOME TO LEGACY WOODLANDS

Please note: our sites are natural locations and subject to the seasons and weather, therefore, our sites are only open during daylight hours which may vary seasonally. Please check the weather on the day you plan to visit to avoid disappointment.

Legacy Woodlands provides an idyllic place for a loved one’s ashes to be scattered or interred with a tree. Our mission is to create a living legacy in our beautiful new woodland setting, which offers a private, tranquil sanctuary where the memories of your loved ones can be cherished and honoured in perpetuity. Set in 30 acres of beautiful rolling countryside nestled in the foothills of the Trough of Bowland area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), the site overlooks the Fylde coastal plain and out across the Irish Sea.

Helping to create a new woodland of memorial trees is a fantastic thing to do for many reasons. On a personal level leaving a living memorial in a unique woodland setting, you and your family and friends can take time out to reflect and celebrate the memories of times spent with those you loved and in whose lives you have shared.

Once you have bought your memorial tree plot, you can scatter ashes or place them in the ground around your tree. You could choose to hold a formal ceremony or keep it simple and relaxed; it is your tree and your choice.

We've partnered with Plotbank

We are delighted to announce our new partnership with the registered charity Plotbank.

Plotbank aims to end funeral poverty by gifting final resting places to their beneficiaries.

We are extremely proud to announce that we have allocated 10-acres to Plotbank, which will provide them with 10,000 Memorial Tree Plots to gift to their beneficiaries once fully allocated!

ECO-FRIENDLY

We all have a responsibility to reduce our carbon footprint, and planting trees is an excellent way to make a start. Trees and plants sequester (absorb) atmospheric carbon as part of the process of photosynthesis. Through this process, carbon dioxide is absorbed, processed and stored. Thus, each tree you plant helps offset your environmental impact by 'breathing' in CO2 as it grows.

Throughout a tree's lifetime (50 - 100 years), it typically absorbs 1000 Kg of CO2.

Once entirely planted, Legacy woodlands first phase 5-hectare woodland site would accommodate approximately 12,500 trees, with one tree sequestering up to 1000 Kg CO2 over its lifetime, representing a saving of approximately 12,500,000 Kg CO2.
